Match Report – Under 14 Girls – Round 13, 2019

U14 Girls – Mooroolbark vs Bayswater

Today we played Mooroolbark at their ground. Didn’t really feel like winter because the sun was shining, and the ground was in great condition so an awesome day for footy.

I’ve never seen the girls so keen to have a kick before the game so one would think we were switched on to play.

As we started the first quarter, Mooroolbark came and attacked the ball and our players hard. Wasn’t quite sure how we would react to the physical pressure but once the tone was set, we settled in and had a crack.

Our pressure around the ball was good and our forwards worked hard to get into the right positions and it paid off for us on the scoreboard. We kicked a few goals late in the first quarter to extend our lead and started to control the game.

The girls continued playing really well and didn’t give Mooroolbark a look in. We shared the handballs around to create more opportunities to kick goals and they were kicking pretty straight so nice to kick more goals than points. We ended up with a big win 149-0
