Match Report – Under 14 Girls – Preliminary Final, 2019

U14 Girls – Bayswater vs Vermont

Today we played Vermont at Vermont in the Preliminary Final. Whoever wins plays in the grand final next week.

It was a great day for footy. Sun was out and not much wind.

We didn’t play Vermont during the season so this was our first clash against each other. We both had full sides so 18 vs 18.

It was a tough start with both teams very keen to get the ball forward. We started off a bit hesitant but our leaders stepped up , settled the team and got the ball into our forward line.

The forwards put themselves in the right positions to give the players someone to kick to.

Our pressure up forward was pretty good so we were able to get some score on the board. When they got the ball, our pressure was good making it hard for them to get the ball forward.

As the game went on, we were more settled and played better footy. We moved the girls around to give some a rest and some opportunity to get in the action and they all battled hard to try and further our lead.

We didn’t kick very well for goal kicking 15 points but something to work on this week for or upcoming grand final. Well done girls.

We won 51-2

  • Bayswater 6.15.51
