U12 Girls Rd11 Match Report…

UNDER 12 GIRLS MATCH REVIEW – ROUND 11

Not the best preparation for a clash against the top team at their ground.  Five unavailable girls and an illness in the first quarter.  Our opposition for round nine Ferntree Gully had 22 players and were able to give us three players each quarter to maximise playing time for all girls.  Captains for the day were Emily and Maddie

We were competitive in the first three quarters and only trailing by a couple of goals at three quarter time.  Shaylee kicked our only goal in the second quarter thanks to some tough work in the forward line.  Grace and Skye gave help to Shaylee and battled hard all game in the wet, boggy conditions.

With almost a third of our team missing, it gave opportunities for others to step up and play in positions they may not have been comfortable in.  Emily made some great defensive efforts early in the game playing deep in the backline.  While a standout for the game was Raelene who played in all positions and took on the responsibility of taking the kick outs in the last quarter, and did a great job.

Final score was FTG 40 to Bayswater 6
