Round 1
V Upper FTG
A fresh start for the reigning Premiers! After a great preseason focusing on fitness and conditioning, this was our first chance to gel as a new team! As a
coach I was very excited to see what worked and what didn’t, so we could make some tweaks!
Coming up against a team that dropped down from B grade last year, we knew this would be a great challenge! After a tricky first quarter we started to see
some great flickers of fast passage, link up hand balls, possession footy!
The score wasn’t what we were after, but we had some great take-aways! Round 1 showed that the midfield needed more structure, an aggressive plan to
be included and improved. Our forward line penetration needed some tweaking too, and our backline had some room for tighter defence!
The players I saw direct improvement from during the game were: Dion, Owen, Liam
Round 2
V Tiger Wolves
After a big almost three week break, a great Mel Bangs tackling session and reflection from Round 1, we were ready to blitz on Anzac Day!
Our first quarter showed a more organised midfield, which led to many forward line clearances! We let a couple goals through but it was clear we were on
top!
As the game went on, we created more space in our forward line, worked on our centre clearances and really showed some great rebounding from the half back
line!
What a great and deserved first win for Anzac Day! The Tiger Wolves coach chose two players he thought showed a relentless effort, camaraderie,
sportsmanship and respect all game! I completely agree that Jed and Levi were two of our best for the day!
