Match Report – Under 11 – Round 4, 2018

U11 Boys – South Croydon vs Bayswater.

A nice sunny morning for Round 4, and with the help of a few new players and a couple of Under 9s helping out, we took to the field for the first time with a full side – and one on the bench!

We were expecting a tough, hard game from the top side and the first quarter proved that with some tight play from both teams. The hard work of David in the middle and Blake on a wing helped us keep the ball in our forward half for much of the quarter, and we got to an early lead at quarter time 1.2. 8 to 0. 0. 0.

With a couple of changes at quarter time, our intensity and skill level lifted and we got the results on the scoreboard. Great work from the two Under 9s. Jed and Jett, and the great play of David, Jackson, and Jamie helped to a handy half time lead – 4. 5. 29 to no score.

As we expected, South Croydon came out hard in the third quarter and the game got a lot tighter for our boys. Some positional changes saw Cody move to a wing, Rohan into defence and Owen into the ruck and the boys withstood some very good football from the top side. At three quarter time we led 5. 6. 36 to 1. 0 .6.

The final quarter saw our boys continue as they have all season with great team football and were rewarded with a brilliant win against a very good side.

Great games by our new players Jamie, Xavier and Riley, as well as the two champion Under 9 players, Jed and Jett.

Final Scores:

  • South Croydon 1.1.7
  • Bayswater 8.9.57
