Match Report – Under 12 Girls – Grand Final, 2018

U12 Girls – Bayswater vs Heathmont.

Well today was the Grand Final. We put the hard work in all year and today was the day to put on a show.

We trained well all week so we had the perfect match prep for the big one.

We knew we needed to switch on from the start and not let them get off to an early lead. We started really good. The pressure we put on the opposition really stopped the run that they had 2 weeks prior. They did kick the first goal but we were looking good.

As the game went on, every single player put their hand up and played their role for the team. The pressure we put on, the tacking, surging the ball forward, attack on the ball and getting into the right positions was starting to pay off.

We kicked a goal in the second quarter to even the score which gave the girls confidence as we went to the half time break. In the second half Heathmont gave it all they had but the girls were switched on and would have a bar of it.

We kick another goal in the third quarter to take the lead. The last quarter was played the same as the first 3 and we kicked another goal to get a lead they couldn’t catch.

An awesome game by the whole team. Every girl lifted and by far our best team game for the year. We picked the perfect time to play a game like this.

Well done girls. Well deserved premiership and the first girls premiership for the Bayswater Junior Football Club.
