Match Report – Under 12 Girls – Round 6, 2019

U12 Girls – Norwood vs Bayswater

After six games of football we finally broke through for a much deserved win. All the girls played this week other than Sydney who is still nursing a broken finger but has been fantastic over the last few weeks by running water. A team is more than just the players on the ground and Sydney has proven this, well done!

A tight first quarter with Tori dominating in the ruck and at the end we were up by one point. That may have been enough to give the girls belief that we can finish a game ahead on the scoreboard, as we kicked three second quarter goals to none, including a great set shot goal from Skye.

The third quarter was a lot closer as we fought hard against the wind. Kayla, Kristy and Kendall chased and tackled to win the ball numerous times. With the wind increasing for the last quarter, and in our favour the direction was to kick long. Elena followed instructions and a kick from just forward of centre rolled all the way through for a goal.

  • Norwood 1.1.7
  • Bayswater 7.3.45

A great team effort this week with lots of rotations on the ball including Gemma, Acacia, Zoe and Emily, however all the girls contributed and stepped up when needed. A lot of hard work on the training track paying off for a great performance.

Well done and congrats to all the parents and helpers, especially Tamara, Craig and Dragana. Was good to get that winning feeling amongst the under 12 girls group. Thanks team.
