U12 Boys Rd3 Match Report…

Round 3 vs Belgrave South, away.

ANZAC DAY.
Perfect conditions for a game of football.
The build up to this game was electric.
At training a few days earlier, we discussed how we wanted to play our best game possible and work as a committed team.
Consistency, communication and pressure were going to be our drivers for the match.
And to the credit of the team, they did everything we had discussed.
Today we took control from the start of the game and capitalised when they let their guard down even momentarily.
Constant pressure against a good opposition and a score board showing a close match was all the team needed to lift into another gear.
It was the best 4 quarters the team has put together this season and in 3 weeks they looked like a completely different team.
Individual efforts and team communication left the coaching staff with little to do except provide encouragement to finish the game with the same passion as they started which would culminate with their first win for the season on one of Australia’s most important calendar days.
An ANZAC Day win resulting in a very loud club song rendition greeted us an hour after the first bounce.
Smiles all round was the perfect reward.
