The Bayswater Junior Football Club extend our deepest sympathies to Mrs. Heather Smith and sons Doug, Darren and Craig, and their families, on the passing of Club founding member and Life Member, Mr. Ron Smith.
Ron dedicated his time and expertise to our Club, serving as President, Secretary, Treasurer and Committee Member from 1972 to 1979. He was awarded Life Membership in 1980 in recognition of his exceptional contributions.
In 1982, Ron was honoured with the Victorian Metropolitan Football League Medallion for his outstanding services to the Knox Junior Football Association (KJFA).
Throughout our 52-year history, Ron remained a constant supporter of the Bayswater JFC. His efforts, alongside those of his fellow founding Committee Members, provided our children with a place to play football today.
In 2019, Ron was our guest of honour at our Annual Social Night, where he generously shared his memories of the Club’s history. He also took great pride in reading our Annual Letters to Life Members and continued to write to the Club each year in return.
Ron leaves an enduring legacy in junior football through his invaluable contributions to both the Bayswater JFC and the KJFA. A true Bayswater legend. 💚💛
