U12 Girls Rd7 Match Report…

Home against North Ringwood as our last opponent we had not played this season.  Our captains were Grace and Ruby.  We also welcomed new player Clara to the team for her first game.  Both teams had 20 players so we were able to play 18 on a full ground.

A tough first quarter for both teams as the tackling pressure was high.  We defended really well early to only concede two points and then in the second quarter kicked two goals, both from the boot of Jess, to have a 10 point half time lead.  Skye was having a real impact for us, either tackling or getting her hands on the ball and being gang tackled, but ultimately giving us as much opportunity to go forward as possible.

A stand out moment in the first half was a selfless shepherd made by Carly allowing a team mate to get an easy kick.

North Ringwood gained some momentum in the second half and were ahead in the last quarter.  Shaylee battled hard as she always does, Raelene, Remi and Jade were getting involved, however we fell short again.  For the second week in a row we lost by less than a goal.

It’s great to see that we are having some close games, but it would be nice to be the winner at the end.  We’ll focus on our kicking skills in the back half of the season, as the girls continue to learn the game.

Todays final result – North Ringwood 21 to Bayswater 19
