U12 Girls Rd10 Match Report…
UNDER 12 GIRLS MATCH REVIEW – ROUND TEN (Rds 8&9 to be played at the end of the season)
After a couple of weeks off, our return to footy was the first game against teams we had played during the first half of the season. Whilst we have skipped Chirnside Park and Boronia – our first two opponents, the league has allocated two weeks after regular season games to fit these matches in.
Sundays round eight game was against Wantirna South at home and our captains were Jade and Sienna. Last time we played, we lost by eight points, so we new it was going to be a tough match.
We kicked the first goal early and managed to lead all game. I believe the difference between this match and our earlier one against the same team, was the girls endeavour and individual efforts to help the team. I could mention all the girls names, however a couple of stand outs, Raelene, Ruby, Clara, Sienna sprinting to the ball to compete in contests makes a big difference to the outcome of each quarter. Charlotte moving into the ruck in the second half held up multiple Wantirna South breaks that could have easily turned into goals. Tackling by all girls was fantastic, in particular Remi, Jade and Keely wrapped up many opposition players.
Special mention to Shayla who fractured some bones during the week and will be out of action for a while. Hoping to see her back before the end of the season.
A really great team effort this week for a well deserved win. At the end of the game we were ahead by our biggest margin 13 points. BAYSWATER 28, defeated WANTIRNA SOUTH 15
