U14 Boys Rd13 Match Report…

Round 13 V Blackburn         10/7

We fronted up to Blackburn on a sunny morning knowing we’d have another tough assignment, but the boys have met each of these challenges this year head on. We were missing a couple of our key players, but the boys attacked the first half really well, and never dropped their heads – something we have tried to instil all year. Some great first half efforts up forward from James, Josh and Mason saw us scoring against the run of play, but at half time we were down 0.3 to 12.6.

The second half saw the boys kick their first goal within the first couple of minutes from a quick snap by Chad which lifted them further and gave them even more momentum to push Blackburn harder. Our pressure was relentless with some fantastic individual efforts led by Anthony and Tom who did not stop chasing and harassing the opposition all day. Mason showed that although being one of the smaller guys doesn’t matter as he put in four individual efforts in one contest alone. Cory also made his presence felt by breaking a few tackles and creating some mismatches for Blackburn and Rhys and Rohan lead the way in the backline with some excellent body work, strongly supported by Samuel and Sean, just to name a few
