Round 4 vs Donvale, Home

This week we took on the undefeated Donvale outfit, a very strong and formidable opponent who has been putting teams to the sword over the first 3 rounds.

Before the game we spoke about our pressure around the ball and how it is the key to success on the football field.

To the boys credit they went out and instantly brought the heat and took the game on with great physicality in tight and plenty of run and flair on the outside.

This would see us well in control at half time.

As good sides do, Donvale responded well and made a real contest of it in the second half, chipping away at the margin, hitting the lead half way through the last quarter and threatening to run away with the game.

To our boys credit though, they dug deep showed their true character and took back control and the lead to eventually run out 13 point victors.

One of the most well rounded team performances we’ve seen from this group with every player playing their part in a very pleasing win.

The confidence and belief is growing within the group and a warning has been sent to the rest of the competition: Beware the Baysie Fortress!!!
