U14 Boys Rd6 Match Report…
Round 6 V Heathmont – 15/5
After a disappointing (to say the least) week off the field this week, we were boosted wonderfully by the arrival of five new boys from Ferntree Gully. While we’re bitterly disappointed for them and their club, we’re really looking forward to them joining us to make as much fun as we can for the rest of this season together. We fronted up again at Heathmont against a very good team who have come down to C grade from B grade. Unfortunately for us again, the difference in the two teams was clearly visible again.
Our five new boys all played a great game, and credit to them for such a positive and fun attitude to their footy. Credit also to the Baysy boys who have welcomed them so warmly into our team. It was a new experience for Steve and I to have a bench! And a new experience for many boys to come and have a rest! But it’s certainly welcome, and will only help us. On field, it wasn’t our day again, but yet again I cannot fault the effort and determination of the boys. Keep our heads up boys, and things will turn for us soon. Special mention to the ‘new’ boys – Tom, Tyler, Alex, Samuel and Aaron; to Blake for putting his body in for his team – and our captain Owen for being our runner today.
